THE LIAR is a comical farce...as most farces are...that revolves around a young man's pursuit for love and the lengths he will go to to avoid being snared in either his father's desires or by the woman he doesn't want...BUT, there's the rub...he confuses the names of the two women involved. So as he pursues one woman and rejects the other...he actually pursues the wrong woman, the one he doesn't want..which causes him to create elaborate lies to extricate himself from a disaster of his own making. "All the world's a lie and all the men and women merely liars". Written by David Ives (just nominated for a Tony for Best Play...Venus in Fur) and presented in rhyming couplets, the cast delivers the dialogue with rapier wit and pinpoint timing.
