Travel back to 1966 and relive the timeless music of Count Basie — from his haunting "April in Paris" to the high-energy "One O’Clock Jump" — The All Star Big Band opens our eighth season with Big Band swing.
Imagine yourself at The Sands Hotel where Count Basie and his Orchestra made history. Basie once said, “If you can't tap your foot or snap your fingers to my band, then we need to change what we are doing”.
The All Star Big Band will play many well-known favorites, including "Basie Straight Ahead", "Shiny Stockings", "Lil’ Darlin'", "Jumpin' at the Woodside", "All Of Me", and a variety of other arrangements that are sure to delight you.
Renowned signing sensation, Yve Evans will sing classic Basie vocals with the Count Basie Orchestra songs of Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday.
