LULA WASHINGTON DANCE THEATRE 2013
|
Presented by Temecula Presents
Temecula welcomes back Lula Washington Dance Theatre (LWDT) after appearing on our stage in our inaugural season. LWDT has been enchanting dance aficionados both nationally and internationally while being received with acclaim and admiration by their audiences. Lula Washington has steadfastly focused on using dance to explore social and humanitarian issues, including aspects of African-American history and culture.
Roslyn Sulcas of the New York Times described them as:
“Live jazz. Athletic bodies, jumping and undulating. Rousing, infectiously enthusiastic performances by fine dancers.”
This group of young, athletic dancers met up in the Los Angeles-based Lula Washington’s inner city dance studio. Since then, these talented individuals have seen the world performing at venues like the John F. Kennedy Center and the New Jersey Performing Arts Center. The world renowned Lula Washington Dance Theatre will import a performance of pure energy and bliss.
