Get ready for a high-energy night of music led by Latin Grammy-nominated bassist and composer Oskar Cartaya. With a dynamic career that bridges Puerto Rico, New York, and Los Angeles, Cartaya blends Afro-Caribbean rhythms like salsa, mambo, and Latin soul with the edgy pulse of jazz, funk, and urban street soul, creating a sound that is both deeply rooted in tradition and boldly innovative.
This powerhouse performance pays tribute to the legends of Latin Jazz—Tito Puente, Machito, Eddie Palmieri, Dizzy Gillespie—while offering fresh, original compositions that showcase the genre’s vibrant evolution. Special guest Diego Mondragón, an extraordinary Mexican violinist from Temecula, will bring his unique flair to the stage, adding a new layer of artistry to the evening.
