THE SOUND INSIDE at 12:30PM
by Adam Rapp
“The Sound Inside” by Adam Rapp is an intellectual thriller about an Ivy League creative writing professor and a gifted yet troubled student. Introspective and thought-provoking, the play, nominated for the Tony Award for best play in 2019, delves into themes of artistic ambition, and the power of human connection.
[“The Sound Inside”] explores how unrealized dreams, loss and the lack of companionship can prove insufferable and encourages audiences to listen to their soul's sounds — the hum pulsing through all of us reminding us of life's possibilities.” -WBUR
“The Sound Inside” will be performed in a concert reading format. Think literary event, like seeing an audiobook read out loud in person, except it’s a play written for actors to perform on stage. Running time approximately 90 minutes.
Disclaimer: Not suitable for children. Show contains adult language.
ALMOST, MAINE at 3PM
by John Cariani
“Almost, Maine” by John Cariani is the most frequently produced play of the past two decades, and has been translated into over a dozen languages. “[The stories in “Almost, Maine”] all have a fable-like quality. Sweet, open-hearted and goofy…” – The Hartford Courant
Timeless and heartfelt, the professional script gives actors the joy of playing multiple roles and audiences the fun of connecting the dots between vignettes. See nineteen roles read by an ensemble of actors in this reading of a theatre fan favorite!
“A higher-concept and more clever version of Hollywood hits like ‘Love Actually’ and ‘Valentine’s Day.’” – The New York Times
“Almost, Maine” will be performed in a concert reading format. Think literary event, like seeing an audiobook read out loud in person, except it’s a play written for actors to perform on stage. Running time approximately 2 hours, including a brief intermission.
